I went in somewhat skeptical because I am a guy that has never been to a fancy salon before. I really enjoyed the service and the haircut that I received. I especially enjoyed the upbeat and fun receptionists that made it the best experience possible. My stylist was running late and they made me feel comfortable and relaxed while I was waiting. I would recommend this salon to anyone and everyone because it was such great service.

Let me start off by saying that Katrina, my stylist, is kind and spirited and knows how to create exactly what I want. She's just wonderful, and always welcoming. I will absolutely keep coming back to her! The place also has a great ambience. Sadly, I have to warn people about the front desk. In the past 8 months or so, I've been booked erroneously, checked in under the wrong name, and not treated with the best costumer care. I've shown up on the Tuesday I'd agreed upon, waited an hour to be called, and then after approaching the desk was told that I'd actually been scheduled for the following Tuesday. What?! (Wouldn't you approach a customer to see if he/she's okay if he/she's been sitting in front of you for an hour??) I've checked in and waited a half-hour before approaching the front desk and then was told that my name was not called because they thought I was someone else. To add injury to insult, in both of these instances, the women at the front desk were not apologetic. Instead I was made to feel like I'D inconvenienced THEM. You'd think they'd not only apologize, but at least offer a free eyebrow wax or something. Overall, the front desk is usually not welcoming. If it wasn't for Katrina, I wouldn't stick with 526.

I was really excited to try this place, as it gets great reviews and looks very nice. I was happy with my haircut. However, I felt like a plague from the moment I walked in the door. No greeting from the front desk. No direction as to where to hang my coat, etc. My stylist, though skilled, had the personality of a dish towel and a condescending attitude to boot. Not the best traits when you make your living in a service trade.

Love this place. Pam did my cut and color, and did an absolutely amazing job, same or better than what I was getting at Spalon Montage for less than half the price!!! Would highly recommend her, super friendly and a great listener. Absolutely willing to do what I want, but will tell me if what I want won't work. =)

I have been going to 526 for a long time, they have great services and awesome employees. That you can get the best massage in the Twin Cities ( and I have been to a lot of places ) from Amy Jo goes without saying. But yesterday was the fist time that I had my hair colored and cut by Pamela. My hair is difficult to dye and even harder to style, and she did an amazing job. She colored, cut and styled my hair differently than I have had it done before and it turned out beautifully. I had my bachelorette party that night and have never received so many complements on my hair from my friends. I am so happy with how it turned out and highly recommend her services. She does an amazing job.
