Fantastic

I went to my local ace hardware store which is R & h resource and I just want to say how fantastic my experience was. They were great there in all aspects answered every question I had and went out of there way to help me it truly was great . Also I wanted to add how absolutely wonderful the manager was. He was overly concerned about every question I had . That young fellow was great and I would recommend anyone to go there and they will have a great experience .

Not impressed. I've spent years going out of my way to support Ace, choosing it when possible over the larger, chain stores right down the road. I recently had some window screens made by them and they told me to measure the wrong way and then charged me for fixing it. I tried to make sure several times that they wanted me to measure the way they instructed (it seemed obvious to me that it wouldn't fit). The manager was rude and unhelpful. To make it worse, the finished screens are terrible, the fit is awful, they are poorly put together and pieces are already breaking off. I will no longer be shopping at Ace, there are many other options within a few miles with much better customer service & products.

Race Track Assistance

While riding my motorcycle at Grattan Race Track near Greenville, MI I had a mechanical failure of my Ducati fuel pump. The folks at the Greenville Ace Hardware helped me locate a Mustang 5.0 litre fuel pump that could be fitted to meet the emergency need. Not only did they identify and get immediate delivery of the critical part, but they also loaned me the use of their bench vice and a hack saw to modifiy some fittings. Having traveled 12 hours to reach the track I'm thrilled that the 'Helpful Hardware Man and Woman' kept me riding.

Disgusted with Ace Hardware

Went to a local store with info about a big ticket item I wanted to purchase. Manager was knowledgeable about product but basically assaulted my points on prices and options until i showed him flyers from the manufactures website proving my points. I special ordered some items only to be told that they are non returnable even to bring back unopened the next day. My intention was to purchase more items over five times more expensive which would give the store more profit. The stores are not linked with each other for problems. You have a bad experience with items which need to be returned, you cant go to another ace and return and give them your bussiness. You can only deal with the store you bought from and that same manager unless or course that manager owns all the local stores. I would rather spend my money locally like the rest to support my community. I have always been known to have a positive upbeat attitude. My feelings are that the two Ace stores management, I went to are: self serving with their store policies, had an arrogant attitude toward customers and showed knowledge to a fault on their products.

I would much rather spend my money at a local co VS big box stores. The guys are great and they know their stuff, My wife like that I will pick up flowers for her while I'm getting paint.
