General Info

La Fonda was originally established as "Holly Inn" in the spring of 1976. (La Fonda de Acebo) Octaviano "Otis" Trujillo, one of the original owners, re-established La Fonda de Los Lobos in May of 1992. (The Inn of the Wolves) Otis was born in Taos, New Mexico where "Mama Feloniz" still resides at the tender age of 83 surrounded by two of her four children and still enjoys good health. Inspired by his late father Ruben, Otis moved on to Denver, Colorado where he learned the restaurant industry and resided until the move to Minnesota. The bulk of our foods and recipes originate from Mama Feloniz. Most of our ingredients are still shipped from New Mexico so that we can share with you the very tastes we have enjoyed for years. Thanks Mom!

Run away

The food wavered between bland, greasy, and just plain bad. Nothing was good in any way, from the chips to the salsa to the beans to the rice to the different entrees we got. A friend of mine warned me this place was bad. I should have listened.

Awful...Just Awful

The previous 5 star reviews were obviously written by an owner or the washed up model who does they're advertisements. The management treats the staff terribly, in front of customers. They also treat customers the same way when you mention that swearing at an employee on the dining room floor is dispicable. The food is terrible. Very bland. They're so called "Brothers Burrito", apparently the hottest item on the menu, was boring. I think they just added the jalapenos to cover the taste of inferior beef. I mean seriously, do they not check they expiration or is it that poor quality? Further more this is not real authentic mexican. I would prefer to eat at El Loro down the street. At least there when then manager comes to the table to check on us, he doesn't tell me I'm wrong when I tell him my burrito is not right. At Lafondas they say "well that's the way it's made." What happened to "let me fix that for you" or "is there anything I can do?"

yum!!!!

Terrible Customer Service

We had a goup birthday party this past Saturday and I cant even begin to explain my disappointment. We had reservations for 12 and we were given a table for 10. WE asked the waitress for another table... 15 minutes later 2 people in our party were still standing at the bar...so we asked the manager, he finally got us the table but not without being rude first. The food took forever to get to us. Drinks were hardly refilled. Food tasted ok though. Then we had another encounter with the manager who was again completely rude. AND to top it off... I checked my bank account today and I was charged $80 when my tab was $62... go figure. Now I have to make a call and get it straightened out. I hope I get to speak with someone besides the manager that wason duty that night..
