do not use public storage

Posted by seanshooper on 11/11/2010

User Rating: 1 out of 5 stars by Seanhooper 11/11/2010 All that I can say about this establishment is do not use them...They have done nothing but harrass my friends as they help me move my stuff into the facility, charge unruly late fees and lock me out of my unit. There is a large rat and mouse infestation at this site. I have many good pictures of how my stuff looked as it was removed from this site its was all to depressing. I moved all of my stuff from this site after having to deal with the district manager Rus Rojjas who was all but helpful.. He came down just to sit there and try to make his employee look good while trying to make me look bad...He failed at this because im no pushover when I beleve im right. He then cut my lock the day I got my stuff out witch left me with a week to remove the last items, When i left they put there own lock on the unit and I was not able to get the stuff out on there time. When the month was done they decided to charge me another month. When I spoke to them about it they told me that i was to come in during bussness hours and get my stuff after i paid another month. I told them you locked me out how am I suposed to get my stuff out they told me that its policy to have a lock on the unit.....That would have been great to know By the district manager Rus Rojjas when he cut my lock off himself....But nope he just cut it and went on his way with no type of concideration of knowing I needed a lock to be there on my unit for a mattres table wheel barrow and some garden tools. The storage facilty managers name is Sara B. She was nothing but rude to me and my friends who helped me through out the months of storage. I even got the cops called on me one night after a phone call from them, they said to the police that i was going to kill them...HAHAHAH wow would a person really do that..Nope why would i say that i want to kill a person over a couple of old things...Well I wouldnt!!! So there was nothing done the cop just told me RESPECFULY to try to DEAL with them, I told him it was a lost cause...Please ask as may questions as you can befor dealing with any public storage!!

What to Expect

I work for Public Storage and I can understand people's frustration with this company. With that being said, most of the complaints on here are due to poor communication between the customer and the property they store at. In the lease, everything is explained regarding our policies with insurance, auctions, nonpayment, and vacating. I get a lot of people come into my store who are angry about something they claimed they didn't know about but it was explained to them (by me) when they moved in and it was detailed in their lease. Bottom line, the storage facilities vary by each property with regards to features and the condition of the facility. The employees will also vary as well, based on their time with the company and their experience with their customers (believe me, there are a lot of difficult people out there). As a customer, you should read your lease so you understand what can happen while you are storing. I advise anyone who is thinking about storing with Public Storage to look online about rates and go to the facility before you move in. We are required to show you the space before you rent so always take a look so you know where your stuff is going to be stored. And when you do rent, make sure the person you are doing your lease with explains it to you-- if not, READ IT (even if it is month-to-month, you are signing an agreement with the company). Also, come in with insurance or get the insurance we offer. And if you do store with Public Storage, the best thing to do to make sure you have a good experience and take advantage of our policies is to talk to the property manager. Let us know what's going on--if you're vacating, if you are storing something very valuable, if you want to transfer, if you lost your keys, most of the time we can help you and we are sitting in that office 7 days a week (for most states) so we are there at some point for your convenience.

PUBLIC STORAGE, LEESBURG, VA.

LAWSON ROAD. LEESBURG, VIRGINIA. 20175 UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU GET INVOLVED WITH THESE PEOPLE. WE RENTED HERE, UNIT # 75, FOR A BRIEF TIME. NO PROBLEMS WITH THE STORAGE ITSELF. BUT THEIR BUSINESS PRACTICES ARE ARE DISHONEST AND MISLEADING TO SAY THE LEAST. YOU WILL RECIEVE BILLS LONG BEFORE THEY ARE DUE, WITH CONFUSING CHARGES. AND WHEN YOU MOVE OUT, IT BETTER BE ON THE LAST DAY OF THE MONTH. YOU WILL NOT GET ANY MONEY BACK! WE WERE PAYING $327.00 PER MO. PAID ON TIME AND MOVED OUT ON THE 12TH OF THE MONTH. AND YOU GUESSED IT. WE WERE SUCKED INTO PAYING $327.00 FOR TWELVE DAYS OF STORAGE. FROM MY EXPERIENCE WITH THESE PEOPLE THEY ARE CROOKS. ALL THE WAY, AND THEY SOULD BE CLOSED DOWN. BE ASSURED, I AM ACTIVELY SEEKING OTHER SIGHTS TO POST THIS ON AS WELL. REGARDS, CHARLES STEVENS, LEESBURG , VA.

Door To Door Storage

Posted by WendyBurkett on 9/19/2009

I am coowner of (formerly) Big Box. If anyone needs storage I highly recommend you to call DOOR TO DOOR STORAGE, INC at 888-366-7222 and let them know Wendy from Big Box referred you. This is the best company around and has been in the Denver area for several years. There is one other competitor in town that I would NOT recommend because they simply are not a reputable company, from my own experience. I'm NOT talking about Pods or any metal container company. They are fine. This other company has the same size WOOD containers like we did and just like DOOR TO DOOR. Store with them if you want but please be aware. They undercut in price as well as undercutting in customer service.
