SoFarSoGood

Called Safelite on Monday and by Tuesday Morning an hour after driving into their shop I was on my way home. Everything appears to be normal and I am very happy with their price and appearence of my car when it the job was finished.

Very Disappointed

Posted bychicagocarsonon 2/27/2010

They called and rescheduled my service 3 times. Said they were "over-booked". When they finally came, they were 2 hours late. They left glass and black stuff all over my driveway. The installer was not friendly. The only good thing is that the window isn't leaking (yet). Not a good experience. I wish I had read these reviews BEFORE using them. Use anybody but these guys...

Does not stand by warranty

Paid to have chipped windshield fixed. Chip turned into a large crack across my windshield 3 months later. Won't stand by their warranty. Avoid using this company.

Make sure to ask for their "best price"

Posted byohiowillyon 2/22/2010

Tried to do business with Safelite over the last few days. I called and asked for a quote, and what I received was higher than other quotes than I had received. I told the phone sales rep that I was just starting the process, and was getting several quotes to compare. He then asked what the lowest quote that I had received, and THEN offered to try to match. If a company won't give me their best offer up-front, I'm not doing business with them. The sales rep told me that I needed to ask for their best price. Sorry Safelite, you lost me, and everyone that I know, as a customer.

No safety concerns

When I called in to see if or when I could get a windshield installed they said it would take a couple days to do it and they would come to me and install it outside. I didn't think anything at the time but as I called around to see if someone could do it sooner, I was told by other shops, installing in freezing temps was unsafe and they would only do it in their shop. it is unsafe because the freezing temps on steel would cause their chemicals to freeze on contact and would not get the strongest bond. Safelite apparently doesn't care about any of that. I also found out that Safelite uses a non OEM windshield (cheaper and lower quality) that is produced under their own name sgc. I wouldn't recommend them.
